Terran Cooper

Paralegal

Terran is a paralegal and regulatory consultant focused on New York State’s adult-use cannabis industry. With a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and nearly a decade of experience in the legal sector, Terran has advised dispensaries and other operators on licensing, compliance, and operations, with a particular emphasis on interpreting and implementing New York’s evolving adult-use regulations. Terran has guided numerous operators to licensure and operations in various state programs. He also closely tracks proposed rule changes, provides impact analyses, and prepares clients for anticipated operational adjustments.

Terran counsels dozens of adult-use licensees across New York and regularly publishes on cannabis law and policy, including a textbook in 2022 focused on New York cannabis businesses. Terran has helped inform the evolution of the NYS cannabis industry by providing comments on anticipated regulations and assisting the Office of Cannabis Management in support of social and economic equity applicants and licensees, including those from communities disproportionately impacted by the war on drugs.

Terran also works extensively in intellectual property, guiding clients through the trademark and copyright application processes and helping to protect a wide range of intellectual property. Terran leverages this experience to provide further value to cannabis-related companies, helping obtain intellectual property protection in often-neglected industries.

Joshua is an Office Administrator at FRB. Joshua's primary responsibility is processing documents after clients come in to sign their Estate Planning documents. He also scans documents that are dropped off by clients so that the paralegals and attorneys can view them easily. Additionally, Joshua drafts cover letters for correspondences going to clients or other attorneys, among many other things. With a customer service background, Joshua is trained in MAGIC (making a great impression on the customer.) He is skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and frequently helps people with these programs when they are having trouble. Joshua is mostly self-taught and has created Macros in Word to automate the generation of Estate Planning document drafts, with no prior knowledge of how to do Macros in Word.

Sara is a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal with extensive experience supporting estate litigation and general litigation matters. With a strong foundation in legal procedures and a client-centered approach, she plays a vital role in preparing cases for filing with the Courts, processing through all Court stages, and Trial work.

In the estate litigation arena, Sara assists with matters involving planning, administration, and litigation. She is well-versed in probate rules, court filings, and managing complex documentation related to estate accounts and fiduciary responsibilities.

In general litigation, Sara supports a wide range of matters, including commercial and civil disputes, negligence claims, and professional liability matters. From drafting pleadings and affidavits to organizing discovery and trial preparation, Sara ensures every case progresses efficiently and thoroughly.

Known for her analytical mindset and meticulous organization, Sara is a valued member of the litigation team, working closely with lawyers and clients to deliver high-quality legal support and compassionate service.

When not working, Sara enjoys spending time with her family, dogs, and being there for her community. She continues to expand her legal knowledge through ongoing education and training.
