Professional Experience
Karen C. Davakis is Senior Counsel in FRB’s Estate Litigation & Contested Accountings Practice Group, specializing in complex trusts and estates litigation. She advises both proponents and objectants in contested probate, kinship, accounting, fiduciary removal, turnover, and related trusts and estates proceedings. Ms. Davakis also works alongside FRB’s Estate Administration and Estate Planning attorneys to assist clients in mitigating the risk of future litigation.
Ms. Davakis’s career in trusts and estates began in 2014, practicing for six years with a sole practitioner focused on trusts and estates litigation and administration. From 2020 to 2024, she worked exclusively on trusts and estate litigation at Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP, first as an associate and later as counsel. Known for her client-centered approach, Ms. Davakis excels in helping clients navigate the complexities of litigation by cultivating relationships based on trust and transparency.
A dedicated advocate for women in the legal profession, Ms. Davakis consistently works to empower and advance the interests of female attorneys. Throughout her career, she has championed initiatives that provide leadership training, professional development, networking opportunities, and mentorship—helping to pave the way for the next generation of women in law.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Davakis is regularly appointed by the Court to serve as a Guardian ad Litem in Surrogate’s Court matters, representing the interests of minors, individuals under a disability, and other parties who are unable to represent themselves. She also enjoys guest lecturing on trusts and estates litigation.
