Professional Experience
Tonya Hurd is an Associate in FRB’s Taxation Practice Group. She brings a diverse professional background that combines legal training with hands-on business experience, offering clients a practical and well-rounded perspective.
Prior to entering the legal field, Tonya spent a decade as a small business owner, where she developed a strong foundation in operations, sales, and client relations. This experience informs her approach to legal matters, allowing her to better understand the challenges and goals of business clients.
During law school, Tonya served as a Legal research Assistant for two years, with a focus on federal income tax and tax research, further deepening her interest in the field. She was also a Comment Editor for the South Texas Law Review, where she honed her legal writing and analytical skills. In addition, she gained valuable insight into the judicial process as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Kyle Carter of the Harris County 125th District Court.
Tonya leverages her combined experience in business and law to support clients with thoughtful, detail-oriented legal analysis and practical solutions.
