Professional Experience

Stephen Medow is a Partner in FRB’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Stephen is a seasoned legal practitioner with extensive experience counseling clients in all manner of disputes, having worked as both an in-house counsel and a trusted outside lawyer. Stephen’s practice focuses on financial services and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on matters involving business breakups, real estate, and family and partnership disputes.

Stephen also represents clients in regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions, and has handled internal investigations for clients dealing with employment and compliance issues. Stephen regularly works with clients in the financial services industry, including RIAs and broker-dealers, advising on a wide range of employment and compensation concerns.

Before joining FRB, Stephen served as the Assistant General Counsel for an SEC-registered Investment Adviser, and was responsible for managing an extensive portfolio of litigations and arbitrations across the country, as well as regulatory enforcement actions brought by the S.E.C. and multiple State Attorneys General. He also provided day-to-day support on transactional matters within the company, negotiating vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements, leases and settlement agreements, was responsible for the company’s public-facing communications, and was a trusted voice among senior leadership.

Stephen began his career as an associate with an AmLaw Top 25 firm, and went on to practice as a senior associate with a mid-sized New York City-based firm.
