Professional Experience

Kathleen Redalieu’s practice encompasses adult guardianship, elder law planning, and Medicaid planning. She also advises clients on estate planning, including wills, trusts, and Supplemental Needs Trusts; advance directives, including power of attorney, health care proxy, and living wills; and various civil litigation matters. Her clients are located throughout Westchester County and New York City.

In adult guardianship matters under Mental Hygiene Law Article 81, Ms. Redalieu counsels clients who have concern for a physically or cognitively compromised individual, where there are no, or insufficient, advance directives. She helps her clients—whether a concerned family member or friend—obtain authority to make decisions regarding the individual’s living arrangements and health care, and to attend to financial matters, such as banking, real estate transactions, and Medicaid planning. She regularly appears before judges of the County Supreme Court, providing all necessary testimony and evidence used to determine whether the Alleged Incapacitated Person (AIP) requires the appointment of a guardian.

A trusted authority on adult guardianship, Ms. Redalieu has served as a court appointed court evaluator, charged with acting as the official eyes and ears of the court on particular guardianship matters. As a member of the Westchester County Guardianship Committee, she develops and implements various presentations regarding current issues in the guardianship realm.
