Falcon Rappaport & Berkman Appoints Elizabeth E. Schlissel as Deputy General Counsel and Daniel J. Gershman as Assistant General Counsel
Falcon Rappaport & Berkman (“FRB”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth E. Schlissel as Deputy General Counsel and Daniel J. Gershman as Assistant General Counsel. The appointments are part of the formal establishment of the firm’s Office of General Counsel (OGC), a milestone reflecting FRB’s continued growth and investment in its internal infrastructure.
Schlissel and Gershman join James M. Black who has served as FRB’s General Counsel since 2022 and leads the OGC. The team provides guidance on legal, ethics, compliance, employment, AI, and risk-management matters as the firm continues to expand.

About the Office of General Counsel Team
Schlissel is a Partner and Chair of FRB's Labor & Employment Practice Group. In her role as Deputy General Counsel, she focuses on internal employment and human resources matters while supporting the OGC's broader responsibilities.
Gershman is a Senior Associate in FRB's Corporate & Securities, Digital Assets, Labor & Employment, and Cannabis & Psychedelics Practice Groups. As Assistant General Counsel, he works closely with Black and Schlissel in advising the firm and supporting the OGC's legal and compliance functions.
Black is a member of FRB’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group with more than 35 years of experience in corporate and government compliance, government contracts, and in-house legal matters. As General Counsel, he provides guidance to firm management on legal, compliance, and risk-management matters and leads the work of the OGC.
The establishment of the Office of General Counsel reflects FRB’s ongoing commitment to building the internal capabilities necessary to support its expanding practice and client base.
