Bart J. Eagle is a Partner in FRB’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group, where he concentrates his practice on commercial law and providing service as a neutral mediator and arbitrator. An experienced trial attorney with over 25 years in private practice, Bart represents a diverse range of businesses, entrepreneurs, business owners, and individual clients. His litigation experience includes disputes involving commercial financing relationships, business acquisitions, shareholder and partnership issues, licensing and distribution agreements, employment matters, contract claims, securities fraud actions, and insurance coverage disputes. Bart regularly represents clients in federal and state courts, administrative tribunals, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.

Beyond his litigation practice, Bart provides strategic guidance and drafts and negotiates a variety of commercial agreements, such as factoring, licensing, employment, severance, distribution, asset purchase, collaboration, service, shareholder, operating, and partnership agreements. Some clients engage Bart on an ongoing basis as outsourced “in-house counsel” to manage their comprehensive legal needs.

He is a member of the Southern District of New York’s Mediation Advisory Committee and serves on the roster of mediators and arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association, the roster of mediators for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the roster of neutrals for the New York State Supreme Court’s Commercial Division in New York and Westchester Counties. Additionally, he is a panelist on the Coop and Condo Panel of the New York City Bar Association (NYCBA). Bart is a member of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) and CPR’s Arbitration, Mediation, and Dispute Prevention Committees.  

Active within the legal community, Bart is a former co-chair of the Mediation Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) Dispute Resolution Section and a member of the Executive Committee. His leadership roles include membership in the NYSBA Commercial and Federal Litigation Section and Dispute Resolution Section, the NYCBA Delegation to the NYSBA House of Delegates, and involvement in mediation trainings. Previously, Bart served as Chair of the NYCBA State Courts of Superior Jurisdiction Committee, and presently serves on the NYCBA’s Council on Judicial Administration and the ADR Committee.

Bart began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, New York, serving over six years in various bureaus, including the Homicide Trial Bureau, the Major Offense Prosecution Program, and a Supreme Court Trial Bureau. In these roles, he investigated, prosecuted, and secured convictions for homicide cases, violent felonies, and complex economic crimes.

Bart is admitted to practice in New York State, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and an instructor in the Advanced Moot Court program, and his undergraduate degree from Queens College of the City University of New York.

Outside of legal practice, Bart has served as a Trustee and Vice Chair of Children’s Aid and currently holds the title Trustee Emeritus.
