Professional Experience

Michael L. Landsman is a Partner in our Real Estate, Estate Planning, and Corporate & Securities Practice Groups. With experience across several legal disciplines, Michael works to create flexible solutions that resolve clients’ current issues and build solid foundations for their futures. Clients typically seek his counsel in the areas of commercial and investment real estate, tax deferred exchanges, retirement, estate planning, estate administration, and trusts. He most frequently focuses on multifaceted, overlapping transactions and planning projects.

Michael’s work life began in the kitchen of Jeremiah Tower’s famed Stars Restaurant in San Francisco. While there, he discovered that he liked two things almost as much as great food: giving people an extraordinary experience and mastering the nuances of complex creations.

In more than 25 years of legal practice, Michael has built deep relationships with clients and their other advisors. He is intently focused on the human side of legal practice and is readily available to answer questions and ease concerns.  Michael’s diverse client roster includes real estate investors, galleries, artists, hospitality professionals, entrepreneurs, and not-for-profits.

Michael is a regular presenter at events for real estate investors and professionals. He is also the author of Key Strategies for Real Estate Investors (Big Sky Funding LLC, 2022). Prior to joining Falcon Rappaport & Berkman, Michael was co-managing partner at Holm & O’Hara LLP. He also previously worked as special assistant to former New York City Mayor Edward I. Koch at Bryan Cave LLP.  During law school, Michael clerked with noted US District Court Judge John E. Sprizzo of the Southern District of New York.
