Professional Experience
James Ivanov is an Associate attorney in FRB’s Taxation Practice Group. James focuses his practice on Section 1031 exchanges, partnership reorganizations, and Qualified Opportunity Zones. Prior to joining FRB, James clerked for the Honorable Judge Catherine Peek McEwen with the US Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida. While in law school, he participated in UF’s Low Income Tax Clinic, where he represented clients in tax controversy issues before the IRS, receiving a large positive outcome for a taxpayer in an innocent spouse case.
