Liz Schlissel:

I’m Elizabeth Schlissel, and this is the Employment Edge with Liz.

As an employment attorney, I help companies respond to and investigate workplace complaints.

While historically these complaints were directly from employees, with the advent of ChatGPT, I’m seeing more and more complaints that are filled with trigger words such as discrimination or retaliation, but but they don’t actually articulate what the employee’s main concern actually is.

While it may be tempting for many companies to just spit out their own ChatGPT response, it’s important for employers to speak with their employees, find out what their core concerns are, and then respond appropriately.

Such actions not only reduces potential liability, but it fosters a positive workplace culture.
