I’m Elizabeth Schlissel and this is the Employment Edge with Liz. Employees are not mind readers. If you want to help create a high performing employee, you need to give them constructive feedback. You need to tell them what they’re doing well and areas in which they can improve upon. A great way to do this is to conduct performance reviews, at least annually if not quarterly.

This allows a positive exchange of what an employee is doing that the company likes and what the company thinks that they need to improve upon or change or tweak a little bit. I know that it’s time consuming and I know that it’s something that a lot of employers put off, but if you want that high performing employee, take the time, invest in your employees and conduct performance reviews. I’m Elizabeth Schlissel and this is the Employment Edge with Liz.
