Professional Experience

Samantha Lyons focuses on helping seniors and their families navigate the complex journey associated with aging. With a focus on Medicaid planning and nursing home care, Ms. Lyons adds her expertise involving wills and trusts, probate and estate administration, guardianships, special needs planning, and disability planning.

A compassionate and forward-thinking professional, Ms. Lyons helps clients mitigate the significant medical and nursing home costs that represent major financial burdens for seniors, especially for those with limited resources. With over a decade of results navigating the eligibility requirements and state-specific rules, Ms. Lyons evaluates her clients’ financial resources, assesses health care needs and guides them through the complicated steps in the Medicaid process.

Prior to joining Falcon Rappaport & Berkman, Ms. Lyons was a partner at Hollis Laidlaw & Simon, Ms. Lyons was a partner with a regional estate planning firm in White Plains, a law clerk for the Westchester County Board of Legislators, and an intern for the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, the Honorable John P. Colangelo of the Westchester Supreme Court, and the White Plains and Yonkers Family Courts.

A proficient and passionate legal writer, Ms. Lyons has written extensively for several esteemed publications, and is frequently invited by professional legal organizations to speak on topics related to her field.

Ms. Lyons resides in Westchester County. Her commitment to supporting her community includes being an active member of the New York State Bar Association – Elder Law and Special Needs Section and the Westchester County Bar Association.
