Community Commitment

Falcon Rappaport & Berkman LLP recognizes that our firm has a responsibility to give back to the communities that give so much to us. As such, our team is firmly focused on a wide range of civic organizations where we can be actively involved. Our commitment to these organizations is foundational to who we are.

As active members of our bar associations, we work to better our communities through charitable giving, sponsorships, and active leadership at the board level. Many FRB attorneys are involved in or serve in leadership roles in governmental bodies, nonprofits, service organizations, and higher education institutions. Additionally, our attorneys consistently author educational articles and presentations for publications, webinars, and events and share their knowledge and resources to improve the quality of life in the communities where we work and live.

Our lawyers have been involved with many civic and service organizations including:

Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation, South Nassau Communities Hospital, Long Island Cares Food Bank, Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York, CaringKind, New York City Bar Association Election Law Committee, Bet Tzedek Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, Exoneration Initiative, Boca Raton Estate Planning Council, American Association for Justice, Civil Service Employees Association, The American Cancer Society, Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, St. John’s University School of Law Leadership Council, Long Island Import Export Association, Renew Democracy Initiative, The JUSTÜS Foundation, North Shore University Hospital

Pro Bono

FRB is dedicated to helping deserving individuals and communities in New York and beyond. Our attorneys have a wide range of capabilities and work collaboratively to simplify interdisciplinary matters. Similarly, the variety of cases we handle is as broad as the needs of the areas in which we practice. Our firm is proud to provide free legal advice and counsel, and even hands-on assistance through pro bono services.

Examples of our pro-bono work:

  • The FRB COVID-19 Task Force provides Pro Bono Estate Planning for those serving on the front lines of the pandemic. To help healthcare frontline workers protect themselves and their families, FRB offers free life planning assistance (Simple Last Will and Testament (“LWT”), Durable Power of Attorney, and Health Care Proxy) to qualified individuals working on the medical frontlines and their spouses.
  • With FRB’s dedication and commitment to gender equality and principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, we continue to advocate for just causes and the rights of all. FRB’s Emerging Technologies Practice Group has provided pro bono legal services to ChoiceDAO, a feature of Web3 launched by a community of activists to fund and engage in the fight for reproductive rights in response to the overturning of Roe. All of the funds go to frontline organizations enabling direct access to reproductive healthcare.
